Before moving to Newcastle on Tyne and beginning his Master's studies at Newcastle University in Restorative Dentistry, Dr. Ruben Calvo-Parra Martinez lived and worked in London for three years. Dr. Ruben Calvo-Parra Martinez was coming from an undergraduate program in Madrid, and so approached London from the eye of a tourist upon arrival. The city fascinated him and Dr. Ruben Calvo-Parra Martinez was sorry to leave it behind. Whenever he gets a chance, Dr. Ruben Calvo-Parra Martinez returns to some of his favorite spots in London. Dr. Ruben Calvo-Parra Martinez suggests tours through these parts of the city to experience some of the best that London has to offer:

·         Bankside: If you are a theatergoer, you cannot miss this area of the city, Dr. Ruben Calvo-Parra Martinez says. Once the home of many disreputable theaters and pubs, Bankside has cleaned up, but has not lost a good dose of character. Be sure to visit the replica of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

·         Hyde Park: Flowing unbroken into Kensington Gardens, this spacious green space in the city is the perfect respite from the bustle of the city, says Dr. Ruben Calvo-Parra Martinez.

·         Crystal Palace: Don't come to London and miss seeing the last remnant of London's World Exhibition in 1851. The Crystal Palace was so beloved by the English people that it was not taken down after the Exhibition ended. Still standing today, the Palace houses a theme park, Dr. Ruben Calvo-Parra Martinez says. The area around the Crystal Palace is also full of indie shops and restaurants.

·         London Eye: Dr. Ruben Calvo-Parra Martinez says that there is really nothing like seeing 55 of London's most famous locations from atop the giant ferris wheel that is the London Eye. Take a night ride for a particularly extraordinary view of the lights of London.
